<p>The world famous Dasara festival has concluded, but aqua sports —a part of the festivities — still remains to cater to adventure enthusiasts. The sports activity being held at Varuna lake on T Narsipura road, as a part of Dasara adventure sports, has been extended till October 29 to facilitate more people to experience the thrill.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Aqua sports that gained popularity with huge turn out was earlier planned till October 22. Overwhelmed by the response, Dasara Adventure Sports Sub-committee has decided to continued with the activity for a few more days. <br /><br />However, the terrestrial adventure sports has concluded on October 22 itself. <br />Adventure amateurs can gear up their lazy weekend partaking in five thrilling water activities at the lake on the outskirts of Mysore. <br /><br />Jet skiing is priced at Rs 200, while kayaking and paddle boat cost Rs 40, Banana ride and speed boat are priced Rs 100.<br /><br />Jet skiing has received the highest response, followed by banana ride, speed boat, kayaking and paddle boat. <br /><br />Among 52 experts, who were in the city from General Thimmaiah National Academy for Adventure Sports (GETNA), 22 have returned as terrestrial activities have concluded on October 22 itself. <br /><br />The rest are assisting the people to enjoy their water rides safely. Speaking to Deccan Herald, chief coordinator of GETNA M R Manjunath said: “Though the response has dipped after Vijayadashami, people are expected to flock during the weekend and the last day.”<br /><br />Though there were only local people in good numbers initially, the event drew tourists on par with them in the later days.<br /><br />The rates have been constant since four years to enable more people, Manjunath adds.<br />He said, the activities here are only for fun as a part of Dasara, while the academy conducts more activities regarding terrestrial and water adventure, nature awareness and others.</p>
