But this 22-year-old girl from Guntur found that the source of those tall claims was short. <br /><br /></p>.<p>According to the police complaint filed by the girl, she got in touch with Rajapathi on Facebook. </p>.<p>Rajapathi, who had a handsome picture on his Facebook page, proposed to marry the girl and later stalled by saying that he as kidney problem and needed money for treatment. <br /><br />From January to October this year, the girl gave him cash amounting to Rs 3 lakh and some tolas of gold, saved by her parents for the wedding of the girl and her sister. The requests were followed by the visit to Guntur of one Sridhar who collected the money and the gold on behalf of Rajapathi, whom, he said, was undergoing treatment at the hospital. <br /><br />Her complaint to the Cyber Crime Police Station was taken up by inspector A Ramulu who investigated the incident and subsequently arrested Rajapathi on Tuesday. <br /><br />Rajapathi (31), a resident of Ferozguda, Bowenpally, confessed that he was a stunted man and was just 3.5 foot in height. <br /><br />He downloaded the picture of a handsome male and posted it to his page to lay a honey trap for young unmarried girls. <br /><br />Having learnt from the complainant that her parents have saved cash and gold for her marriage, he gained her sympathy by telling her that he suffered from kidney failure and needed money for medical expenses. <br /><br />He visited the girl and collected the cash and gold by telling her that he was Sridhar and a friend of Rajapathi. <br /><br />He sold some of the gold and pledged the rest at Muthu Finance in the nearby Sangareddy. <br /><br />Police seized Rs 4.75 lakh cash and some gold, a laptop, a data card and two mobile phones. <br /></p>
