<p> In yet another case of the dengue shock syndrome, Vijay Kumar, 19, a resident of Sanjay Nagar, died at a private hospital on Sunday. He had been ill for more than 10 days. <br /><br /></p>.<p>Kumar was suffering from high fever and was taken to a clinic near his house. He was diagnosed with low platelet count and was soon administered with platelets. <br /><br />“After a few blood tests, the doctor asked us to shift him to a bigger hospital,” said Ananda, a family friend. He was shifted to Baptist Hospital on Thursday. “We administered around 16 units of platelets,” a Hospital spokesperson said. Doctors at the hospital said while the initial test showed that he died of dengue shock syndrome, the final reports are awaited.</p>
