<p>Onions are being provided free with the purchase of car and truck tyres by a tyre seller here to protest the rise in the price of the edible bulb.<br /><br /></p>.<p>"As the price of onion has gone up to Rs 60 a kg here, we have decided to offer five kg of onion free with the purchase of a truck tyre and one kg on two car radial tyres," Satnam Singh Gambhir, the tyre seller of Kalimati Road in Sakchi said today.<br /><br />Gambhir, who is the President of the All India Sikh Students' Federation of Bihar and Jharkhand, had made a similar offer in December 2010 when the price of onion had also risen to Rs 60 a kg. protest over the government's failure to check price rise and depreciation of the currency.<br /><br />"We will continue the offer till Independence day and may extend it further depending on the government action to bring the price of onion down," he said.</p>
