<p> The government plans to go ahead with the construction of dam-cum-power generation station near Mekedatu, along the River Cauvery. <br /><br /></p>.<p>Law Minister T B Jayachandra said Karnataka was firm on having at least two projects on its side of the border to generate power and store water.<br /><br />“I have considered all legal options. There is no problem for Karnataka to have two projects within the boundaries of Karnataka, along River Cauvery. This after giving Tamil Nadu its share of 192 TMC of water.” Briefing reporters, he said the government is in constant touch with senior counsel, Fali Nariman, over the riverwater sharing dispute. <br /><br />On June 2, Nariman will be in Bangalore when we will hold talks on water sharing disputes of Cauvery and Krishna. <br /><br />The government was hosting meetings with both the legal team and technical team, over the requirements to proceed further with the dam and hydel power generating station at Mekedatu.<br /><br />The government, Nariman and techinical team will have another meeting between June 9 and June 12 on the same issue for final decision.<br /><br />“It is not appropriate for Tamil Nadu chief minister, tbringing out an advertisement to claim the victory for a decision which has been given by the Supreme Court,” he said.</p>
