<p>Army chief Gen Dalbir Singh said on Monday that the Indian Army prefers a “wait and watch” policy to see if Pakistan Army has a change of heart after the dastardly terror attack on the Army school in Peshawar.<br /><br /></p>.<p>“We will have to wait and watch,” Singh said, when asked if Pakistan would change its strategy towards India after being at the receiving end of many terror attacks, the last of which was in an Army school.<br /><br />Gen Singh said Pakistan was supporting proxy wars in Jammu and Kashmir despite suffering from casualties as terror infrastructure and camps are still intact. In 2014, Army and Border Security Force killed 110 terrorists, compared to 65 in 2013.<br /><br />The infiltration attempts, Singh said, had shifted to Jammu region, because of a strong counter-insurgency grid in Kashmir valley and favourable terrain with lots of broken grounds with or without water, which provides a hiding place for the terrorists. “India has an active border,” he added.<br /><br />Asked about the consequences of withdrawal of US and Nato forces from Afghanistan, Gen Singh said adverse consequences could not be ruled out as the terror network can extend from Afghanistan to Jammu and Kashmir.</p>
