<p>Several farmers are preparing urea in a traditional method in and around Phalguni. The organic urea has given expected result on fields. However, the system has not been discussed scientifically. Under SKDRDP’s integrated agriculture unit project, emphasis is given for the preparation of organic urea, says SKDRDP Agriculture Officer Chidananda. <br /><br />Preparation<br />According to the farmers, a tank of three feet wide and two feet long must be constructed near the cow shed. The dry sand after sieving should be filled to the tank. Every day 5 to 6 litres of Ganjala (cow urine) should be poured inside the tank. After 15 to 20 days one can find Ganjala without being sucked by sand. After this, one should stop pouring Ganjala to the tank and sand should be made to remain in the tank. Now the urea is ready for use. <br />Before using the organic urea, one should dry it in shade. Before sowing, the urea should be used. For the irrigated land, the organic urea can be used directly. Organic urea supplies nitrogen to the soil. It also helps in maintaining the humidity. It also supplies more nutrients to the soil.
