<p>A mother and her daughter were found dead under mysterious circumstances at their residence in Shanthi Layout in K R Puram on Saturday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>According to police, the deceased have been identified as Pushpa, 24, a housewife and her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter Suraksha. They were found dead in their bathroom at their residence. <br /><br />On Saturday afternoon, Pushpa's husband Dinesh, who owns a provision store in the same area, called up Pushpa on her mobile phone. But there was no response. Dinesh, who got worried, rushed to the house and found the main door open. <br /><br />He could not find anyone in the house and he noticed the bathroom door locked from inside. He knocked on the door and there was no response. He broke open the door and found the mother and daughter lying on the floor unconscious. He alerted the neighbours, who checked on the duo and found them dead. They informed the police.<br /><br />The police rushed to the spot and noticed that there were no injury marks on the body.<br /><br />A senior police officer said, “They were found dead under mysterious circumstances and there were no injury marks found on the body. The bathroom is fitted with a gas geyser and it has no proper ventilation. It is suspected that there might have been a leakage from the cylinder and they may have been suffocated to death as there was no proper ventilation. The post-mortem reports also said that there were no external or internal wounds found on the two bodies. The deaths are suspicious and we have asked Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) to conduct an examination and submit a report. Based on the FSL report, we will investigate the case and ascertain the cause of the death.” <br /><br />A case has been registered in K R Puram police station and investigation is being carried out.</p>
