<p> Traffic movement was disrupted for an hour on Hosur Road near Electronics City on Wednesday noon when a car was gutted due to short circuit.<br /><br /></p>.<p>According to police, Manjunath, a mechanic and a resident of Yelahanka, was coming from Hosur in his Maruti car when the car suddenly stopped. Manjunath noticed smoke from the engine and opened the bonnet. Clouds of smoke emanated from the bonnet as the engine caught fire and soon the entire vehicle was gutted. Traffic on the stretch came to a grinding halt, while police and Fire and Emergency personnel doused the fire.<br /><br />A senior police officer said, “Public who had gathered to witness the incident blocked the road leading to traffic congestion. It took more than an hour to clear the traffic.” A case has been registered at the Electronics City police station in this regard.</p>
