Rail time table has user-friendly features

The Railways’ new timetable which came into effect from Thursday has some passenger-friendly features. 

The new time table is available on Indian Railways’ website www.indianrailways.gov.in.
The salient features of ‘Trains at a Glance’ include brief description of Rajdhani, Duronto, Shatabdi, Jan-Shatabdi, Sampark Kranti, Double Decker, Yuva Express. The changes  for accommodating new stoppages have been  have been included.

Vigilance organisation and public grievance machinery have been suitably updated and incorporated in it.

 The Railways also launched an online public grievance redressal portal, www.coms.indianrailways.com.

 Passengers can also lodge complaints or suggestions via  SMS on 9717630982.
In order to improve punctuality of trains, the old timings were re-visited and certain changes made in train-timings during the run and at terminals. The affected terminals include Jammu, Delhi, Patna, New Jalpaiguri and Bengaluru area.  

Some trains have been speeded up and travel time reduced.
 Some trains have been re-numbered due to shifting of primary maintenance depot or due to speeding up while other trains have been renamed.
