<p> Bengaluru FC (BFC) and Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports (DYES) shared the spoils in an evenly contested 1-1 result in a BDFA Super Division league fixture at the Bangalore Football Stadium here on Tuesday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The match began at a tepid pace with both sides locked in an intense midfield battle while finding it difficult to be penetrative.<br /><br />BFC had the first real chance of the game in the 22nd minute when the lively Nishu Kumar made a good run on the left flank and found Pavan unmarked in the centre, but the midfielder could not control his shot and fired well over the bar with only the DYES custodian, Bheem Shankar, to beat.<br /><br />DYES had to constantly deal with pressure from their opponents, who created another good chance in the 30th minute when Nishu floated in another ball but this time around, Jonathan was found wanting in front of goal as he missed an elementary header.<br /><br />Bengaluru were punished for their missed chances five minutes before halftime as Harish powered home a strong left-footed effort from the edge of the area.<br /><br />Determined<br /><br />Having to play catch-up in the second half, BFC came out determined and had chances aplenty though they continued to fail with the final product.<br /><br />On the other hand, DYES were finding it hard to get out of their own half.<br />With 10 minutes left on the clock, Vishal Kumar rose well and headed home from Ganesh’s corner to level the scores.
