"I always admired Abhay's choice of script and films. He is very intelligent and has various interests apart from cinema. He is into music and painting and a very creative person," Tannishtha told PTI.

The dusky beauty, who is one of the prominent Indian faces in international arena with movies like 'Brick Lane' and 'Shadow of Time' to her credit, said she gelled well with the actor on the sets of the movie.

"For me sometimes it is quite important that I get along with the people I am working with. It is not just a professional thing. Dev and Abhay are the kind of people with whom my sensibility matches. There was no effort in trying to know each other. It was great to know Abhay," the actress added.

Abhay, who is known for his off-beat films like 'Socha Naa Tha', 'Oye Lucky Lucky Oye' and 'Dev D', plays the lead in the film with Tannishtha playing his love interest.
"Dev did not want my character to be region specific. She is someone who knows what's the scarcity in that region but the story is about this guy who is travelling with a cinema in a truck and meets these people. There is a romantic link between Abhay and me," Tannishtha said.

Tannishtha said she always wanted to work with Benegal and was happy to know that she was one of the main choices for the movie.
"I have always admired Dev's work. I saw 'English August' when I was very young and it kind of redefined the urban Indian cinema. He was one guy with whom I always wanted to work with... and when this script came up, I was one of the main choices for this particular role," she said.

The film also gave Tannishtha the chance to work with Satish Kaushik again after 'Brick Lane'.
"I adore Satish Kaushik. I love him to death. He is so funny and he is so adorable and humorous on the sets. He has great energy. We had such a great time," said the actress.

The film, which premiered in Berlin Film Festival recently, will hit theatres on March 5.
The story revolves around a restless youngman Vishnu (Abhay Deol), who is itching to escape his father's faltering hair oil business. He finds the ticket to freedom in an old Chevy truck of his uncle and offers to drive it to a museum. Along the way, he picks up a runaway, a wise man (Satish Kaushik) and a striking gypsy woman (Tannishtha).
Tannishtha finished 'Bhopal: Prayer For Rain' with Hollywood superstar Martin Sheen and another film directed by Lucy Liu. She is also doing a major Hindi film but refuses to divulge the details. She is also planning to team up again with 'Brick Lane' director Sarah Gavron.
