<p>Two visitors to the Independence Day flower show at Lalbagh were attacked by a swarm of bees just as they entered the garden on Monday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Jitendra Kumar and Suraj, both aged 24, were rushed to a first aid camp and later treated for the stings. The incident took place at 2.30 pm. Dr Mahendra from the Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain Hospital who attended to the duo, said that their condition was not serious.<br /><br />“They were given first aid and also injections. Since there was an attack last year as well, we had volunteered with a free medical camp during the show to attend to emergencies,” he added.<br /><br />Meanwhile, M Jagadeesh, joint director, Horticulture, Parks and Gardens, Lalbagh, told Deccan Herald that there were five beehives in Lalbagh, of which, three dangerous ones were removed.<br /><br />He added that the incident was unfortunate and officials are clueless on what led to such an accident.<br /><br />"The victims were given injections within 12 minutes and they are out of danger. The other two beehives were not removed based on the advice from experts we had consulted. We will probe what led to the incident since the attack happened despite taking precautionary measures,” he added.<br /><br />The official also claimed that the incident took place at the entrance of Lalbagh West Gate and not inside the premises.</p>
