<p>Karnataka Transgender Samiti and several other organisations working for the rights of the community, will take out a rally on Friday from the City Railway Station to the Town Hall to protest the “derogatory” portrayal of transgenders on a Kannada news channel.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Members of the community said they were being falsely accused. “The channel has criminalised the entire community and since the telecast, we are facing increased violence and are being ostracised by the police, neighbours and public. <br /><br />“Following this media trial by the channel, a plaint was lodged against six transpersons who have been placed in judicial custody with charges of abduction, wrongful confinement, grievous injury and even attempt to murder,” the statement issued by the samiti reads. <br /></p>
