<p> <br />Hearing a petition by Thippasandra-based Bangalore Fish Produce and Processing and Marketing Society, Justice Nagamohan Das quashed the order and directed the State to renotify the tenders and re-grant it according to the law. <br /><br />The petitioners, in their submission challenged the award of the tender and said according to the March 31, 1960 rules, fisheries tenders can be awarded only to those registered co-operative societies which deal with fisheries. The petitioner being one such society, it is eligible for such rights.<br /><br />Further submitting that the BBMP has acted illegally and contrary to the rules, the petitioners sought to quash the tenders, which gave the fishing rights for two years.<br /></p>
