<p> Tractor Mahindra has displayed its first-ever driver-less tractor, which is developed at the Mahindra Research Valley in Chennai and will be commercially available from 2018.<br />With this launch, Mahindra becomes the pioneer in the tractor industry, the company said in a statement.<br /><br />Mahindra plans to offer the driver-less tractor technology across its range of tractors from 20 HP to 100 HP over a period of time and will be commercially deployed by early 2018 in the country and later in the global markets like the US and Japan.<br /><br />The company claimed that the driver-less tractor will make farming more productive and profitable, reduce health hazards for farmers and change the future of food production.<br /><br />The diverges tractor can be programmed to carry out specific tasks and can also be operated remotely to perform in the field.<br /><br />Speaking on the occasion, Pawan Goenka, managing director said, the driver less tractor opens up new possibilities in farming. MCI has initiated the process of implementing a CCTV solution with an objective to monitor availability of faculty and student for the classes," the company said in a statement.<br /><br />The scope of the project includes supplying and implementing IP surveillance solution to monitor defined areas at centralised location, setting-up centralised infrastructure, command and control centre and data centre, operation and maintenance of the solution for three years, provisioning of training to the users identified by MCI and establishing centralised IT help desk and video operations.<br /><br />Earlier it had bagged a Rs 50 crore project from MCI in August 2016, to design, procure, develop, supply, implement, operate and maintain its DMMP solutions for e-governance purpose.</p>
