<p>The protesters alleged that the TMC is trying to make water a commodity of the rich owing to the conditions laid out by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). “Since a new water connection costs Rs 8,000, poor people will be denied of the facility. Besides the TMC has decided to disconnect all the public taps,” they alleged.<br /><br />The activists took out a jatha from Abbakka Circle to the TMC office where a protest meet was held. Speaking on the occasion, DYFI District President Munir Katipalla alleged that the TMC working on the instructions of a foreign bank is on the imperialistic path. DYFI office-bearers Mahabala, Jayaram Kuttar, Ashok Shetty Chembugudde and others were present.</p>
