Disclosing this to reporters, Bangalore In-Charge Minister Katta Subramanya Naidu said that borewell water will be purified at ground level reservoirs before supplying to the people. As many as 12 reservoirs will be constructed in this newly- added areas of the BBMP, he added.
During the last year, BWSSB had drilled 1,220 borewells at the cost of Rs 46 crore and had supplied drinking water to people, he added. BWSSB has also taken up a Rs 52,74 crore project to replace old and corroded water pipelines in old Bangalore areas.
