<p>Of the 11 persons who displayed symptoms of water contamination like diarrhoea and vomiting, two were treated by the BBMP health officers while nine including two children were admitted to a private nursing home, said the Palike’s Zonal Health Officer T Devaki.<br /><br />Four patients have already been discharged and the remaining five are being treated and recovering, she said, adding that 'ORS' sachets and Tetracycline tablets were distributed to all residents of the Hanumanthappa colony and adjacent areas as a precautionary measure. She said it appears it was a case of water contamination. Water samples were sent to Public Health Institute for analysis and the report was awaited, she said.<br /><br />The BWSSB officials said water supply to the area had been stopped for a week. Water was being distributed through tankers and there was no question of contamination.</p>
