<p>Mysore based Bhageeratha Institute has started training Gram Panchayats in this regard from June 21 at Golthamajalu. <br /><br />Zilla Panchayat CEO P Shivashankar said “it is essential to take people into confidence before starting a project. The units will be set up at Golthamajalu, Kateel/ Kinnigoli, Dharmasthala, Konaje and Subrahmanya.” <br /><br />He said the Zilla Panchayat has made preparations in this regard. The officials have visited the JSM Solid Waste Management unit in Mysore. Japan based JMS Technology has started treatment plant in Mysore wherein the water will be treated and re-used. In Mysore, for cleaning the drainage water, churners have been installed in treatment plants. With the biotechnology, bacteria can be produced which play a vital role in waste disposal and management. For these, bacteria wastes is main source of food and discharge oxygen to the air. <br /><br />In the JMS prepared biotech model of waste management, there is no strong smell emanating from the waste nor crows and kites attack the wastes at the waste management unit. In fact, an organisation has come forward to purchase the compost produced at the unit at the cost of Rs 4 per kg. There is no need to have electricity for the maintenance of the unit. The unit does not seek the service of experts, labourers. Instead it is eco friedly and there is no question of pollution to the air. The maintenance cost is also less. In the backdrop of stiff opposition to the dumping yard in the district, these units are helpful. The continuity and support from the general public is essential for the success of the project, feels CEO.</p>
