Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (RDPR) Minister Jagadish Shettar, answering a query by S R Patil (Cong) in the Karnataka Legislative Council said that a vigilance committee as well as the ombudsman will be appointed to look into the problems.
Patil, during the question hour, had asked about the action taken to prevent the misuse of NREGS scheme. According to him, the scheme aimed at creating jobs is being done using heavy machinery, while job cards are in the grips of influential people.
The Minister said that the problems will be resolved as the State has taken the matter seriously.
