<p>Irked by the behaviour of the eighth standard student who he found chatting with another boy in class, the teacher, Moses, beat him, police sources said.<br /><br />On a complaint from the boy`s father, police registered a case and arrested the teacher of the school at Marapalam near here last night.<br /><br />The boy has since been admitted to hospital. The Puducherry government had banned corporal punishment in schools some five years ago.</p>
