420 million Chinese now use the internet

Website sina.com.cn citing a report published by China Internet Network Information Center (CINIC) reported that 277 million people access the internet via cell phones. The population of China's internet users climbed to 420 million as of June 2010, 36 million more than at the end of 2009.

China Daily Wednesday reported that broadband was the most popular way to access the internet, instead of a wired connection. There has also been an increase in internet usage by the Chinese, with average time being spent growing to 19.8 hours per week.
