Addressing a press conference here while handing over the keys to 242 houses built for flood victims at Donga Rampur village by Matha Amritanandamayi Trust, Yeddyurappa said: “We have handed over the investigation to the Lokayukta. If the Congress does have any documents, they should submit it to the Lokayukta or to the President or Supreme Court.”
He maintained that the party had no faith in the CBI and instead demanded the Centre to use its powers to nationalise mining and bring out a national policy.

The Chief Minister yet again used the occasion to criticise the Congress’ padayatra saying: “I do not care for it. Let them continue it for another 25 years.” He also slammed the remarks made by the KPCC president R V Deshpande saying: “Deshpande should be ashamed of making such remarks against me.”

‘41 pc GDP growth’

Turning his attention towards the financial health of the State, Yeddyurappa said the government was “financially stable”.

“There is 41 per cent growth in the State’s GDP. From January to May this year, we have collected Rs 15,368 crore in the form of taxes, as against Rs 10,864 crore during the same period last year,” he said.

After the BJP rally on August 20, Yeddyurappa said he would tour all the districts of the State. “I will visit Belgaum on 25, Bijapur on 26, Bagalkot on 27 and Bidar on 28,” he said and added that he would stay at the house of an organic farmer at Kandagol village in Aurad taluk.

Housing and Information Minister Katta Subramanya Naidu, District In-charge Minister Anand Asnotikar, MLC N Shankrappa, CADA Chairman Basangouda Byagwat, legislators Manappa Vajjal, Pratap Gouda Patil and District President Ashok Gasthi were present.
