"Congress padayatra is a failure, a flop show. (leader of the Opposition in the Assembly) Siddramaiah's drama is mainly to save his skin," Health Minister Sreeramulu told reporters after the Congress' 320-km padayatra on illegal mining culminated here in a massive show of strength.
Tourism Minister Reddy alleged it was Congress leaders who were involved in illegal mining and demanded their apology to public for making "baseless allegations" against them.
Storming the mining bastion of Bellary, the Congress leaders targeted the Reddy brothers accusing them of plunder of state's natural wealth and warned that the Centre will not remain a mute spectator to the 'loot'.
The Congress embarked upon the padayatra accepting a challenge from the Reddy brothers to set their foot on Bellary, their home district.
