<p>Attributing to people familiar with the matter, The Wall Street Journal reported that HP's board met for nearly three days through September 17 for discussions that included an update on the CEO search.<br /><br />Hurd resigned last month, following an investigation into claims of sexual harassment brought by a former contractor.<br /><br />HP does not expect to name the new CEO in the next several days, the daily noted.<br />According to the publication, HP's internal candidates for the post of CEO are Todd Bradley, who runs the personal- computer business, Ann Livermore, who oversees the server and services business, and Dave Donatelli, a relatively recent hire, who helped lead HP's successful bidding war for 3PAR Inc.<br /><br />However, HP has not ruled out bringing in someone from the outside. The board has approached a number of potential external candidates, including Stephen Elop, the former Microsoft Corp executive, who earlier this month was named CEO of Nokia Corp, the report said citing sources.<br /><br />An HP spokeswoman declined to comment on the issue, the report said.<br />HP brought in outsiders for its last two CEOs-- Carly Fiorina, whom the company hired from Lucent Technologies in 1999, and Mark Hurd, who left NCR Corp in 2005 to replace her.</p>
