<p>Their demands include beginning pre-primary classes in government schools to create scope for NTT diploma holders, eligible to teach up to only second standard after modification of rules by NCTE, and provision of recruitment in government jobs.<br /><br />"Our diploma was earlier equivalent to BSTC (Basic School Teaching Course). However, with derecognition of the validity for teaching in primary classes a few years ago, it is now limited to nursery schools only," Titu Sharma, Coordinator of the Sangharsh Samiti of NTT students, said.<br /><br />"We are demanding immediate solution to our problems and will jump if our demands are not met by this evening," he said.<br /><br />He claimed that they were struggling for last three years and had staged protests at PCC, JLN road and even outside the state Education minister's residence.<br /><br />"Police batoncharged us on several occasions during our protests and the government is not considering our demands, so we were left with no other option," he said.<br />According to Sharma, there are over 27,000 NTT candidates across the state.<br />Meanwhile, police officials have reached the spot.</p>
