Mining firm staff caught by Lokayukta police

Govindaraju was arrested and a sum of Rs 2.17 lakh was recovered from him. The police officer had been taken as a witness to the offence, it said.

"The investigation of the case is centered on the possible motives behind the offer of bribe and is likely to give an insight into the network of illegal mining", the release said.
