Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan in collaboration with Delhi Public School South Campus is organising Germany in my Mind, a painting competition organised under the auspices of the Goethe-Institut project — Schools: Partners for the Future. In all, 127 children from 12 schools will be competing in two categories — Seniors (Std 9 to 12) and Juniors (Std 5 to 8). The objective of the event is to introduce Germany to local school children and to create an interest in German life and culture.
The results of the painting competition will offer an insight into the current level of awareness about Germany among the children and the event is expected to lead to further initiatives to build up a sustained inter-cultural rapport, with far-reaching benefits for Indian school children. The judges for the event are Claudia Werner, an art teacher from Germany, artist Surekha and Dr Evelin Hust, Director, Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan. The grand prize for the best painting in the senior section is a trip to a youth camp in Germany.
The first three prize winners from each category will get a gift voucher. The event will be held on August 23 at Delhi Public School, South Campus from 10 am to 1.30 pm.
