In Bard’s words, If music be the food of love, play on... Here in the City though, food is giving company to many talented musicians. Via Milano at Koramangala played host to emerging singer Rajeev recently, when he along with other artistes, performed numbers from his debut album, Fallen.
The album comprises songs that add life to emotions while at the same time takes you down memory lane. With over an hour’s worth of original material that transcends genres, the music can be essentially classified as a rustic form of rock.
Fallen is an ode to love and the essence of each song is drawn from personal experiences. The strong point is that the album goes out to the masses. The lyrics evolve from intense but unexpressed feelings. The music came with delectable Italian food in an atmosphere comprising the young and the old. The ambience lived up to crowd expectations. While the band delivered one song after another, people couldn’t stop themselves from getting drawn in to the mood of the moment. The wine raised the spirits of the audience.
The Wayfarer’s Lyric as the evening was called, was apt. The band featured other artistes like Chris Avinash, Prakash K N, Trinity D'Suza, Yasmin Claire Kazi and Uday Jose. Rajeev, the vocalist and the lyricist says, “I had no pre-conceived notion when I started out. The songs in the album are about love but not about people being in love. You see someone and wish you were with that person,” he says.
The album will be released in the first week of September. “The other numbers are about Security in love, Emotions, A Wayfarer’s Journey, Kissing the Past Goodbye — all thoughts that are ingrained deep inside everyone, I have just been able to put them in words and record them,” he adds.
Among those who were seen having a good time were a bunch of college-goers who swear by this genre of music and women with wine. Guests included Ananth Iyer and Nafees Fazal.
