Amitabh, Ali Akbar may collaborate

Sarod maestro Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, who popularised Indian classical music in the West, and has composed music for movies like Aandhiyan, Devi, Ismail Merchant's House Holder and Bernardo Bertolucci's Little Buddha, is in the USA. The Ustad in a rare statement from his Ali Akbar Khan Institute of Music in USA expressed his desire to collaborate for a project with none other than Amitabh Bachchan. Hence, fans may hear Big B recite English poems of poets like Keats and Lord Tennyson in his baritone voice, which according to the Ustad has no equal in India.

Ali Akbar Khan plans to personally write to Big B soon. Sandip Ray, son of the late legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray says, "This will be the greatest experiment in the past three decades. My father would have made a documentary on the event as he would understand the depth and viability of such a project.”
