Addressing an interactive meeting of the heads of the self-help groups at SKDRDP office here on Wednesday, he said the project had achieved Rs 118 crore savings and had provided loans amounting up to Rs 438 crore in all.
The scheme is undertaking a business of Rs 916 crore. The members of the SHGs have established a record without keeping a single rupee pending, he said.
The SKDRDP has 23 offices and 73,718 SHGs in 6 districts. As many as 7 lakh families are being benefited by the scheme, Mr Shetty said.
Programme officer H Lingappa Bangera said there were 192 SC/ST colonies in Sringeri Assembly constituency. Development works have been launched in 42 backward colonies on August 15, he informed.
Rs 13.35 lakh worth furniture have been donated to 75 schools of the taluk. 17 teachers have been appointed. A total of 1908 SHGs, 706 pragathi bandhu teams, 95 okkutas of 27,752 members have been constituted, he said.
The SKDRDP district director Jayaram Nellittaya was present.
