Education revolution need of hour, says VC

“Education revolution is the need of the hour and a must for the comprehensive development of the nation. It can be accomplished only when the BPL families are elevated to APL level,” said Yenepoya University Vice-Chancellor Prof Sayyed Akheel Ahmed.

Addressing the gathering during the felicitation programme for the gallant persons who rescued many lives during the Ulaibettu tragedy and inauguration of new batch of MBBS and BDS courses, Prof Ahmed said that after green and the white revolution, the nation is looking forward for education revolution and this will be realised only when the condition of the people living at the grass root level is improves with adequate access to health care and education. He said that success belongs to those who believe in their dreams and accordingly he called upon the students to focus on their goals and at the sometime he assured the parents that their wards would walk out of the portals of the college as disciplined and competent person who would make the society proud.

Felicitation

Rafeeq, Sahul Hamed, Mohommad Asif, Ansar and Sampa Poojarthy (posthumously) were felicitated during the programme for the bravery they manifested by rescuing several lives during the Ulaibettu tragedy. Siddique, one of the brave hero who was to receive the felicitation was absent. Son of Late Mrs Sampa Poojarthy who died after saving lives of several children during the incident, accepted the felicitation.

Yenepoya University Chief Executive Officer Farhad Yenepoya, Islamic Education Trust Secretary Dr Akhtar Hussain, Yenepoya Medical College Principal Dr R N Sujir, Yenepoya Dental College Principal Dr P H Shripathi Rao were present.
