Substantial Credit To India This Year
Washington, August 27.
International talks on ways and means of meeting India’s balance of payments problem ended the final session here today “quits successfully”.
A World Bank spokesman said, “Intentions were expressed around the table by the participating countries and the Bank itself. On the basis of which it appears that substantial additional aid will be given to India during the coming year.”
Nehru Hopeful of Indo-Pak Meet
New Delhi, August 27.
Prime Minister Nehru expressed the hope today in matters of border dispute in his meeting with the Pakistan Prime Minister and said it would yield good results. He referred to reports of firing despite the ceasefire and said: “I do not think we need to attach importance to it from the point of view of a breach of cease-fire which became effective from 12 noon yesterday.”

Pak Protests Indian Leaders’ Statements
Islamabad, August 27.
Pakistan today protested over the statements of the Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and External Affairs Minister P V Narasimha Rao over the situation in Pakistan where demonstrations against military rule are still continuing. Indian Ambassador to Pakistan K D Sharma was today summoned to the Foreign Office for the same.
