Freshers Day celebrated

Freshers’ Day celebrated

The Fresher’s Day at Baldwin Methodist College was celebrated recently. Events such as Mad Ads, Mock Rock, Personality Contest were held on the day. The newly-elected student council also took oath on the occasion.



Inaugural function


The Department of Foreign Languages, Bangalore University, held its inaugural function for the academic year 2008-09 at Jnana Jyothi Auditorium. The programme started with chairman Dr K Eresi, welcoming the gathering. The chief guest was Dr Suman Venkatesh, who is also the founder chairperson of the department.  She is now Professor at Columbia University and NY University, USA. She expressed her satisfaction on seeing how well the department had grown. 



Italian treat

M  S Ramaiah College of Hotel Management organ  ised a one-day workshop on Italian cuisine at its campus for the IV year students specialising in food and beverages production.

Monica Lisi, a specialist in the art of Italian cuisine, demonstrated the intricate cooking from different regions of Italy during the workshop.

The students were treated to a range of Italian dishes starting from appetisers to the main course.
The Verdure Grigliate with a dash of olive oil, salt and basil was a vegetarian delight while the Bruschetta with a topping of tomatoes, garlic and basil was lip-smacking.

English club


BET Sadathunnisa Degree College for Women, BET Sufia Girls High School and composite PU College for Girls had an English Club inaugurated in their college premises. The club was inaugurated by Dr B A Anuradha Prathap, Principal,  Al-Ameen Institute of Management Studies.
