Twenty two customs and central excise officials, seven of them of the rank of superintendent, were arrested during a late night party at the hill station of Khandala from where 11 bar girls were also detained.
The revellers from Mumbai, dancing to blaring music system in a drinking session, were indulging in obscenities at a resort when the raid as carried out, Lonavala police said on Wednesday.
A senior police official said that the other arrested officials were of the rank of inspector. Blue films and liquor were also seized during the raid, he added. The arrested persons included three managers of the party and drivers of the vehicles, who travelled from Mumbai to Khandala, police said.
