Opposition Congress-led UDF is ahead in all the 20 Lok Sabha seats in Kerala, as per the initial trends released by the Election Commission.

In the prestigious Wayanad constituency, Congress President Rahul Gandhi is ahead by 34,989 votes against his nearest rival P P Suneer of the CPI.

The NDA candidate Thushar Vellapally is trailing far behind. Former Union minister and sitting Thiruvananthapuram MP, Shashi Tharoor s ahead of his rival Kummanam Rajashekaran of the BJP by 2,452 votes. In Ernakulam constituency, Hibi Eden of the Congress is leading by 17,748 votes against P Rajeev of the CPI(M).

Union Minister Alphons Kannamthanam, the BJP candidate, has so far garnered 13,443 votes. Senior Congress leader Kodikunnil Suresh is leading in Mavelikkara by 1,719 votes against his nearest rival Chittayam Gopakumar (CPI-LDF).

From the start of counting of votes at 8 am on Thursday, Deol has been maintaining a lead over Punjab Congress chief Jakhar.

BJP nominee B Y Raghavendra is racing towards victory in Shimoga Lok Sabha constituency.

He is all set to register a remarkable victory against Madhu Bangarappa of JD(S). He is leadingby 1,51,082 votes over Madhu Bangarappa. BJP gained 4,85,131 votes while JD(S) bagged 3,34,724 votes.

The YSR Congress seems to be on course of making a clean sweep of the Lok Sabha seats with the party leading in all 25 seats in Andhra Pradesh.

As per the latest election commission data, the YSRC-led by Y S Jaganmohan Reddy is surging ahead in all the constituencies. The TDP, BJP and Congress are nowhere in the picture.

All parties fought the election on their own without any alliance, unlike in 2014 when the TDP-BJP sailed together.

West Bengal: TMC ahead in 25 seats, BJP in 16 seats

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) seems to be making deep inroads into West Bengal by leading in 16 seats, while Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress is currently ahead in 25 seats in the state.

The Congress is leading in one constituency, while the Left is yet to take a lead in any of the 42 constituencies.

As per initial trends, the TMC has so far secured 44.61 per cent votes, closely followed by the BJP, which has bagged 38.99 per cent votes.

Coalition candidate and former prime minister H D Deve Gowda's grandson Prajwal Revanna has emerged winner in Hassan Lok Sabha segment against A Manju of BJP. A formal announcement is yet to be made. Prajwal secured 5,97,439 votes defeating BJP's Manju who got 4,74,053.

Kundgol by-polls: Kusumavathi holds on to her lead margin. However, after round 6, the lead has come down to only 2160 votes against Chikkangoudar.

Sikkim Assembly Trends: SKM leading in 7, SDF in 2

The opposition Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) is leading in seven Assembly seats while the ruling Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) in two constituencies as per initial trends, officials said Thursday.

The Sikkim Assembly has 32 seats.

Pralhad joshi extends his lead to over 1.58 lakh after 14 rounds. Two more rounds of counting left.

Nalin Kumar Kateel leads by 2,27,058 votes after counting. 10,01,350 votes polled.

Narendra Modi extends lead to 2,19,563 votes with 3,19,035 votes against SP candidate Shalini Yadav's99,472.

West Bengal bypolls: BJP ahead in four seats, AITC in three

Bengal is looking forward to a saffron storm, with the BJP racing towards an impressive score in the byelections to eight Assembly constituencies, in consonance with its surge in the parliamentary polls in the state, according to the initial EC trends.

The saffron party is currently ahead in four of the eight Assembly seats, where bypolls were held following the death of a legislator, and resignations by seven sitting MLAs who gave up their seats to contest the Lok Sabha polls.

Gulbarga Lok Sabha constituency BJP candidate Dr Umesh Jadhav leads by 44,000 votes over Congress candidate Mallikarjun Kharge. Kharge failed to maintain a lead even in a round.

BJP's Shobha Karandlaje is leading by 1,11,067 votes against her rival Pramod Madhwaraj.

BJP set to sweep Rajasthan

The BJP-led NDA is heading towards a clean sweep in Rajasthan with saffron party candidates leading in 24 seats while its alliance partner Rashtriya Loktantrik Party is leading in one seat, as per Election Commission trends.

One of the BJP candidates is leading with a margin of more than three lakh votes, one with more than two lakh margin and 14 are leading with more than 1 lakh vote margin.

NC President Farooq Abdullah takes unassailable lead of 55,000 votes in Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency over PDP candidate Aga Mohsin: Election officials.

BJP Belgaum candidate Suresh Angadi continued to increase his lead as the counting progressed. His lead increased to 65,277 votes.

Angadi polled 1,20,979 votes while Congress candidate Dr Virupakshappa Sadhunavar had polled 55,702 votes.

Prajwal Revanna expressed happiness over winning by a huge margin in the Lok Sabha elections. Speaking to reporters, after the results were announced, he said though he was confident of victory, did not expect a huge lead.

NDPP wins Aonglenden bypoll in Nagaland

NDPP's Sharingain Longkumer Thursday won the bypoll to the Aonglenden Assembly seat in Nagaland's Mokokchung district by 6,245 votes, officials said.

BJP leads on 10 seats in Chhattisgarh

The BJP is maintaining a lead on the 10 out of total 11 Lok Sabha seats in Chhattisgarh while the Congress is leading only in Bastar (ST) constituency, as per the trends available so far.

In the 2014 general elections, the BJP had bagged 10 seats and the Congress one. The Congress had won the assembly elections late last year by dislodging the BJP from power.

3 UP ministers ahead, 1 trailing

Three out of the four Uttar Pradesh cabinet ministers fielded by the BJP are leading, according to the Election Commission trends.

S P Singh Baghel, Rita Bahuguna Joshi and Satyadev Pachauri are leading over their rivals from their respective seats, while Mukut Bihari Verma are trailing in the latest round of counting.

In Agra, Baghel, who is minister for animal husbandry, minor irrigation and fisheries, has polled 71,570 votes as compared to the BSP's Manoj Kumar Soni, who has got 57,370 votes.

Pachauri is leading by over 40,000 votes against Congress candidate and former Union minister Sriprakash Jaiswal.

Pachauri holds the portfolio of sericulture, textile, micro, small and medium enterprises, and export promotion in the cabinet headed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

In Allahabad, Joshi is leading by over 58,000 votes against Rajendra Singh Patel of the Samajwadi Party. Joshi holds the portfolio of women's welfare, family welfare, mother and Child Welfare, and tourism.

However, Mukut Bihari Verma, the minister for cooperative, is trailing by over 75,000 votes against the BSP's Ritesh Pandey in Ambedkar Nagar. PTI

The BJP is leading in both the Lok Sabha seats in Arunachal Pradesh, Election officials said on Thursday.

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju is leading by a margin of 71,239 votes in Arunachal West Parliamentary constituency against his nearest rival former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki of the Congress.

Rijiju had won the seat in 2014 by a margin of 41,738 votes.

In the Eastern Parliamentary seat, Tapir Gao of the BJP is leading by a margin of 33,097 votes against his nearest rival Lowangcha Wanglat of the Congress.

NDA marches towards majority, currently at 84 seats won; UPA wins 15, Others 9

The combined efforts of both Congress and JD(S) to wrest Shimoga Lok Sabha seat from BJP failed to produce desirable results as B Y Raghavendra of BJP registered a remarkable victory against Madhu Bangarappa of JD(S) by a margin of 2,23,360 votes.

This has been the second highest victory margin in Shimoga Lok Sabha constituency after B S Yeddyurappa, who had won Shimoga seat by a margin of 3.63 lakh votes in 2014.

B Y Raghavendra bagged 7,29,872 votes while Madhu Bangarappa got 5,06,512 votes. With this victory, BJP has conveyed a strong message that it still holds strong political hold over Shimoga Lok Sabha constituency.
