In just two days, ecommerce majors have recorded sales of $1.5 billion (Rs 11,100 crore).</p>.<p class="bodytext">According to market research and advisory firm Redseer Consulting, the industry is on track to register in excess of $3 billion (Rs 22,200 crore) sales by the end of the five-day festive period. In comparison, last year’s festive sale season had seen total sales of $1.5 billion.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Since October 10, 2018, ecommerce firms sold 46 lakh mobile phones worth $800 million, six lakh large appliances worth $170 million, 1.03 crore fashion products worth $120 million.</p>.<p class="bodytext">India’s largest ecommerce firm Flipkart on Wednesday achieved a record in ecommerce retail history in India by selling one million mobile phones in an hour, and over three million in a day. Flipkart has cornered 85-90% of overall market (Realme, Xiaomi, Samsung, Honor) for mobile phones.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The company also set a record with one million users on the app at any given point during BBD, with glitch-free sessions at a ground-breaking 99.9% uptime. The Big Billion Day sale, the flagship festival sales of the ecommerce giant, which is its fifth edition, started off on a carnival note on Tuesday. </p>.<p class="bodytext">According to Flipkart, BBD 2018 achieved an overall business of BBD 2017 within 26 hours. In just two days, the company reached the same number of customers it did in the two-month period last year.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Among perfumes, Flipkart has been selling 500 international brands every minute, up from 100 a day during non-BBD business.</p>.<p>“Early Access proved to be a major attraction for customers as over 30% of all purchases have come from Plus customers,” the company said.</p>.<p>The ecommerce giant sold 100 books every minute during Early Access. Chinese smartphone brand OnePlus witnessed a record sale worth Rs 400 crore during the first 36 hours of sale on Amazon.</p>.<p>This includes this year’s flagship, the OnePlus 6 and pre-bookings for their upcoming device, the OnePlus 6T.</p>.<p>Both Flipkart and Amazon are running their festive sales campaigns — Big Billion Day and Great Indian Festival respectively from October 10 to 14, 2018. Paytm Mall Maha Cash Back sale will end on October 15.</p>.<p>Redseer data reveals that 95% of the sellers are participating in this year’s sale event with a very high awareness of the sale. About 77% of the total sellers are expecting a higher growth in sales compared to last year.</p>
