<p>New Delhi: The BJP has sent a show-cause notice to former Union minister Jayant Sinha for “not taking interest” in party activities. The party took the action after Sinha skipped campaigning and also he did not cast his vote on Monday. </p><p>The BJP’s Jharkhand general secretary Aditya Sahu, in a notice to him, said that his conduct has maligned the party.</p><p>“You are not taking any interest in organisational work and election campaigning ever since the party declared Manish Jaiswal as the candidate from Hazaribag LS seat. You did not even feel proper to exercise your right of franchise. The party’s image has been maligned due to your conduct,” Sahu wrote in the show-cause notice.</p>.AAP indulging in 'character assassination' of Swati Maliwal: BJP.<p>Sinha, who had held portfolios in the finance and civil aviation ministries, had put up a post on March 2 stating that he will now focus on climate change. </p><p>“I have requested Hon’ble Party President Shri JP Nadda ji to relieve me of my direct electoral duties so that I can focus my efforts on combating global climate change in Bharat and around the world. Of course, I will continue to work with the party on economic and governance issues,” Sinha had posted. </p><p>Soon after, the BJP announced Jaiswal as its Hazaribagh candidate. Sinha’s father, a former BJP veteran Yashwant Sinha, had a fall out with the BJP in 2019. Also, Sinha’s son Aashir Sinha joined the Congress last week. </p><p>The BJP’s state unit has sought an explanation from Sinha in the next two days. Leaders said that the instructions came from state BJP president and former Jharkhand chief minister Babulal Marandi.</p>
