<p>Veteran film producer Raj Kumar Barjatya, who was associated with several superhits, passed away in Mumbai on Thursday.<br /><br />His is survived by wife Sudha and son Sooraj Barjatya, also a filmmaker. <br /><br />"It is with profound grief that we mourn the loss of Raj Kumar Barjatya, father of Sooraj Barjatya. May his soul Rest In Peace," Rajshri Pictures said in a tweet. <br /><br />He has produced films such as Salman Khan-starrers Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo (2015), Hum Saath Saath Hain (1999), Hum Aapke Hain Koun (1994) and Maine Pyar Kiya (1989).<br /><br />Son of Tarachand Barjatia, he had passed on the art of filmmaking to his son Sooraj. <br /><br />Trade analysts Komal Nahta and Taran Adarsh tweeted on the death of the legendary film personality.<br /><br />"Terribly shocking news. Shri Raj Kumar Barjatya passed away some minutes back at Reliance Hurkisondas Hospital. Can’t believe this. Met him just a week back at his Prabhadevi office.<br /><br /> He spent so much time with me and my family. He looked perfectly alright then. And now, he’s gone!," Nahta said. </p>.<p><br />"Shocked and saddened to learn of Rajkumar Barjatya ji’s demise... Raj Babu - as he was affectionately called - was an extremely soft-spoken person... Heartfelt condolences to Sooraj, the Barjatya family and #Rajshriparivaar," said Adarsh.</p>
