March 12 will be the last date for withdrawal of candidature.</p>.<p>Assam will witness polling in three phases on March 27, April 1 and April 6 in which a total of 23,18,6362 voters will exercise their franchise.</p>.<p>Polling for 39 constituencies in Barak Valley, central Assam and a few constituencies in Bodoland Territorial Region will be conducted in the second phase. Congress, on the other hand, has stitched a "grand alliance" with six other parties including Badruddin Ajmal-led All India United Democratic Front and Bodoland People's Front, BJP's ally in 2016 elections. Two other regional parties, Assam Jatiya Parishad and Raijor Dal, which were born out of the anti-CAA agitation, are also contesting the elections jointly.</p>
