India's Covid-19 tally on Saturday neared the 60-lakh mark while the country's death toll crossed 94,000. Kerala clocked a record daily spike along with states like Chhattisgarh and Meghalaya. High caseload states like Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab continued to post an upward trend. In his UNGA speech, PM Narendra Modi said that India's vaccine production and delivery capacity will be used to help 'all humanity' in fighting this crisis. On the flipside, Serum Institue of India's Adar Poonawala asked the government if it would have Rs 80,000 crore read by next year to buy and distribute the vaccine to Indians.
