Explained | Right way to display Tricolour as per Flag Code of India, 2002

India’s celebration of 75 years of independence from British rule has been nothing but grand. The government started a 75-week countdown from March 12, 2021, celebrating ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to mark this day.

The display/hoisting/use of the National Flag is governed by the Flag Code of India, 2002 and the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971.

Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav: Tricolour rallies held in several cities in MP

'Tiranga' rallies were held in several parts of Madhya Pradesh on Sunday on the eve of Independence Day. While Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and state Home Minister Narottam Mishra flagged off a rally of police personnel, including women, state Medical Education Minister Vishvas Sarang held a rally in Bhopal's Upper Lake with 75 boats adorned with the Tricolour.

'Naga national flag' hoisted to celebrate 'Naga I-Day'

The Naga tribals hoisted the "Naga national flag" and organised programmes in Nagaland and at many villages in the Naga dominated areas of Manipur on Sunday to celebrate the "Naga Independence Day".

Several programmes were held on the occasion in different places of Nagaland while besides organising small programmes in many villages of the Naga inhabited areas of Manipur, the Naga flags were hoisted in the houses, shops and various other establishments.

A considerable number of Naga tribals inhabited in many of the 16 hill districts of Manipur while there are Kuki tribals in these hill districts, bordering Nagaland, Assam, Mizoram and Myanmar.
