As heavy rains continue to lash parts of India, there is a growing worry in Delhi over the Yamuna's rising water levels. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wrote to Home Minister Amit Shah requesting limited water quantity to be released into Yamuna river as it crosses danger mark. He also took an emergency meeting with officials over flood situation in the city. Himachal has also witnessed flash floods after incessant rains.CM Sukhu took an aerial stock of the situation, the state government further informed that the figures of death stand around 88, with more than 100 injured. Yamuna water level rises to all-time high in Delhi
The present water level of Yamuna river at Old Railway Bridge (ORB) at 9 pmis 207.95 m. At 8 PM 1,47,857 Cusecs water released from Hathinikund Barrage. As per the latest forecast issued by Central Water Commission (CWC) today at 05:10 PM, water level at Old Railway Bridge (ORB) is expected to be at 207.99 m on 13th July between 04:00 AM to 06:00 AM & thereafter, it is likely to remain Stable: Delhi govt
