<p>Anganwadi and Asha workers will take out a state-level rally under the aegis of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangha on November 10, urging the government to fulfil and implement their demands, Association State General Secretary Lokesh said on Wednesday.</p>.<p>He told reporters that the rally will begin from the taluk office premises and will end at Azad Park Circle. Later, a public meeting will be held.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He said their main demand is to recognise anganwadi workers as government employees and provide a monthly remuneration of Rs 18,000 to Asha workers. These demands will also be placed before the Central government during a protest meet, he said.</p>.<p>“There are 40,000 Asha workers and 80,000 anganwadi workers in the state. In Pondicherry, anganwadi workers are considered as government employees. Asha workers in Goa and Maharastra are being paid a monthly remuneration of Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000, while in Karnataka, they are given a meagre Rs 5,000 per month," Lokesh pointed out.</p>.<p>Association members Victoria Rani, Gayatri, Meenakshi, Shivamma and Govindappa were present in the press meet.</p>
