Arebhashe films to be considered for Karnataka state awards

The state government has issued an order to add Arebhashe to the list of regional languages, in the category of films.

So far, films of Tulu, Kodava, Konkani, Banjara and Beary languages, apart from Kannada, were considered for the selection of state film awards.

With the new order, Arebhashe films will also be considered for the film awards.

Under Secretary to the Department of Kannada and CultureM J Sintha has issued the order.

With the implementation of the order, Arebhashe films will be eligible to get subsidies.
