<p>The volunteers of Bangalore Political Action Committee (BPAC) along with the Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) conducted garbage black spots removal drive at Thanisandra on Wednesday.</p>.<p>The drive is a part of their five-part series programme, where they try to create awareness among the people about maintaining cleanliness in public spaces.</p>.<p>The members cleared the garbage piled up near Hegde Nagar traffic police training centre.</p>.<p>‘Due to meat shops in and around the area, the place was filled with animal waste and also eateries in the area had dumped wet waste,’ a press statement said.</p>.<p>With the growing problem of solid waste management, it is important to spread awareness about waste segregation at the source, said a BPAC representative.</p>.<p>The BBMP health officials also took part in the programme.</p>.<p>Two black spots in Byatarayanapura and Pulakeshinagar were removed during the drive.</p>
