<p>Passengers, who book railway tickets through the UTS App, will get an instant cash bonus of 5% of the recharge value, whose ceiling has been raised from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000, the South Western Railway said on Wednesday.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Through the Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) App, a passenger can book a maximum of four tickets from a station which is within five km from their position.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Passengers can also buy/renew season tickets, platform tickets and cancel booked tickets. They can deposit money in the Railway Wallet to pay for the fare.</p>.<p class="bodytext">E Vijaya, SWR Chief Public Relations Officer, said the app was gaining popularity among travellers every day with 52,100 registered users since its launch and has an average of 1,500 daily users.</p>.<p class="bodytext">More than 1.5 lakh tickets have been booked through the app from February 18 and the railways has collected Rs 12 lakh in revenue, Vijaya added.</p>.<p class="bodytext">An official in the Bengaluru Division of SWR said the app was gaining about 200 new users every day within the city.</p>.<p class="bodytext">“It is an ideal app for those who take suburban trains. Passengers can avoid waiting in queues and board the train directly once they book the ticket,” he said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Passengers, who travel within the SWR limits, need not carry the printed version of the ticket. When prompted for validation, they can show the digital ticket on their mobile.</p>
