<p class="rtejustify">The high court on Monday issued a notice to Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) while hearing a PIL challenging the parking fee hike proposed by the corporation.</p>.<p class="rtejustify">The court was hearing a petition filed by N P Amruthesh, an advocate, who sought directions to the BMTC to withdraw its March 3 tender notification.</p>.<p class="rtejustify">The petitioner stated that the BMTC recently called the tender notification for business services in several bus stands, particularly to run two-wheelers and four-wheelers parking lot, where the public had to shell out more than 100% from what was charged previously to park their vehicles.</p>.<p class="rtejustify">Amruthesh has made several representations to the corporation, the transport minister and also to the chief minister in this respect.</p>.<p class="rtejustify">He also contends that the managing director of the corporation and the chief traffic manager( tender inviting authority) hands in glove with the bidder/contractor raised the parking charges by 100%, which will cause inconvenience to the people.</p>.<p class="rtejustify">He stated that the other areas in the city like government hospitals, MS Building, KSRTC, among others charge less for parking.</p>
