<p>Hirotoshi Tanaka, 31, a psychology graduate and resident of Yaizu City in Japan who stole a chair from the office of the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), JC Nagar, in Bengaluru, last week, has been sent to a detention centre and would be deported to his country from there, according to a <a href="https://indianexpress.com/article/cities/bangalore/japanese-man-who-stole-bengaluru-acps-chair-detention-centre-7214511/">report</a> by <em>The Indian Express</em>.</p>.<p>Tanaka, who had gone to Bengaluru to learn English in 2019, wanted the cops to arrest him for stealing the chair since he wanted to stay in India to fight an ongoing case in Karnataka Human Rights Commission. After hearing us and also after listening to his version, the FRRO ordered that he be sent to the detention centre,” DCP North Dharmendra Kumar Meena told the publication.</p>.<p>Two days ago, Tanaka had sent a message to the national daily saying that he was in FRRO and the police were trying to persuade him into departure.</p>.<p>He claimed that the police had asked him to pay a bribe in connection with a 2019 case for hitting his English teacher.</p>
